Miss Manchester Update:
My first time at Miss NH was a blast! The Miss NH Ball was a great time to be with my fellow contestants, directors, family and friends. We all had a very nice time, and I especially enjoyed testing out my ballroom dance moves with Moe Montminy! I had a wonderful time with the other contestants traveling around NH for lunches with the sponsors, rehearsals, and a performance at the Boys and Girls Club during pageant week. As contestant #1, it was my job to start off each area of competition and get the show started! The whole night was action packed, and I am very happy for our new Miss NH 2005, Audra Paquette.
It has been a few weeks since Miss NH, but I have still been very busy! I recently took the MCAT in April, and I am now undergoing the exciting process of applying to medical school. I am interested in pursuing a career as a physician, and I definitely want to have my practice in New Hampshire. Maybe some of our Miss Manchester supporters will be my first patients!!!!
As many of you know, I am working at Massachusetts General Hospitals as a research technician. My work involves investigating HIV and AIDS, and I have also become involved with advocacy work to support the HIV/AIDS community. On June 5th, I am leading my team “Take Action!” in the AIDS Walk; this is a fundraiser to earn money for research, education and prevention. Log on to our team site to see our donation progress: http://www.aac.org/site/TR?px=1041250&pg=personal&fr_id=1000
I look forward to crowning the new Miss Manchester in November. Our theme this year is disco, so I am happily putting together a ballroom dance number as part of the entertainment!
Thanks for your support!
